Cycling and Mountain Biking in Nozawa Onsen

Even before the ski resort closes its possible to explore the surrounding areas of Nozawa Onsen by bicycle. You can ski in the morning and cycle in the afternoon and still make it back to Winterland for happy hour. The rice terraces and villages make a stunning backdrop as you cruise up and down the hills - remember it’s a ski resort town - there are going to be hills! There are rental options at Compass Village for some great MTB and E-bikes as well as Mt. Dock near Nagasaka Gondola in summer and autumn when downhill and cross country trails are open and bikes can be taken up on the gondola.
